Barely has the dust settled on the RSC’s Dream of an outing to Blackpool - complete with Poulton Drama as the Mechanicals - another opportunity has arisen to join the cast of a top company.
Having brought the excellent Of Mice and Men to Blackpool’s Grand in spring - which requires the services of one elderly local dog - the Touring Consortium Theatre Company returns with their bold new version of A Tale of Two Cities.
What’s more the company is looking for 12 others to augment the professionals on stage. Auditions take place at the Grand on July 20 and 21 - time to be confirmed.
It’s one of the country’s leading large-scale touring theatre companies, and has been touring high quality productions around the UK for 20 years.
The tour starts in September and takes in the Grand in October. The 12 locals, six men and six women, will play the ensemble roles - corsets a necessity for the ladies and long hair preferred. There’s also need for a ‘small boy’ to make a brief appearance. Rehearsals take place ahead of the company’s arrival, followed by a full company rehearsal, and performances all week, matinees and evenings, so it’s quite a commitment.
